  • What type of patients do you see at Joondalup Sports Medicine?

    At Joondalup Sports Medicine we are committed to helping anyone and everyone with an exercise or activity related injury. This is not limited to athletes. From young people who have a sports injury, to the middle aged weekend warrior, to those more mature with long term joint pain. Whatever the cause, we would love to be able to assist you.

  • What is a Sports Doctor?

    A Sports Doctor is a General Practitioner with a specific interest in diagnosing and managing musculoskeletal injuries. Sports Doctors do further training in the sports medicine field. As well as being a General Practitioner, Dr Barr has trained as a physiotherapist and completed additional specialisation in musculoskeletal injuries by completing a masters degree.

  • What are your opening hours?

    Monday 1pm to 7pm
    Tuesday 8:30am to 5:30pm
    Friday 8:30am to 4pm
    Saturday 8am to 12pm
  • Are appointments bulk billed?

    No. We are a privately billing clinic which allows us to have longer appointment times so that we can thoroughly assess your injury. Payment is required on the day of your appointment.

  • Can I use my private health insurance to cover the costs of an appointment?

    No. Private health insurance doesn't cover the cost of medical appointments.

  • Am I able to get a medicare rebate for my appointment?

    Yes. As long as you are registered through medicare you are able to get a rebate for your appointment. We are able to process your medicare claim at the time of your appointment to ensure your medicare rebate is automatically paid back to your nominated bank account.

  • Do I need a referral to make an appointment with a doctor at Joondalup Sports Medicine?

    No you don’t need a referral. You can book an appointment directly through our website or by calling the clinic.
